Notah Begay III

The only full-blooded Native American on the PGA TOUR, was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The only full-blooded Native American on the PGA Tour, was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Introduced to the game of golf by accompanying his father to a local municipal course in Albuquerque, Notah quickly became one of the top junior golfers in the country. A three-sport standout at the Albuquerque Academy High School, Notah combined his success on the golf course with his dedication to education and earned a scholarship to Stanford University.

A three-time All American at Stanford, Notah led the 1994 Men's Golf Team to a National Championship and set the record for lowest round (62) in the NCAA Tournament along the way. Notah graduated from Stanford in 1995 with a degree in Economics and continues to emphasize the importance of education through his Scholarship Fund for Native American students.

A 4-time PGA Tour winner, Notah became only the third player in the history of professional golf to shoot 59 in a professional event at the 1998 NIKE Dominion Open. One of three players in modern history to win two PGA Tour events in each of his first two seasons on Tour, Notah earned the opportunity to represent the United States in the 2000 President's Cup where he paired with Tiger Woods to compile a 3-2 record and helped the US team to victory.

Benny Shendo, Jr.

Benny Shendo, Jr, a native of the Pueblo of Jemez, is the Vice President of NB3 Consulting and serves as the head of Business Development for the Native-owned golf course development firm.

Benny Shendo, Jr, a native of the Pueblo of Jemez, is the Vice-President of NB3 Consulting and serves as the head of Business Development for the Native-owned golf course development firm.

Benny has a rich history in serving the Native American people.  He was the former Cabinet Secretary for Indian Affairs for Governor Bill Richardson in New Mexico.  In addition, Benny has served in various capacities of management and leadership, including Senior Manager of Native American Programs for the University of New Mexico and the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of the American Indian and Alaskan Native program at Stanford University.

In 1998 and 2002, Benny served as the 2nd and 1st Lieutenant Governor, respectively, for the Pueblo of Jemez.  He is a Fellow of the W. K. Kellogg National Leadership Program, Group XVI, 1997-2000.  He was co-founder of the San Diego Riverside School, Inc. (K-8) in Jemez Pueblo, which became the first Charter School on an Indian Reservation in the State of New Mexico.  In September of 2004, he received the prestigious Mary G. Ross award from the Council of Energy Resources Tribes (CERT) for his professional achievements.

Benny is the father of two children, Eileen and Benjamin.  He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mark Freeland

Mark graduated from Stanford University and spent three years in the strategic consulting world with before earning his graduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A longtime friend of Notah's, Mark handles all of Notah's business affairs and helped launch NB3 Consulting, LLC with Notah in 2002. Mark serves as the day-to-day operational liaison for NB3 Consulting and oversees the entire NB3 Consulting, LLC team.

Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and still has family in the Midwest. Mark and his wife have two beautiful daughters and live in Marin County, California.
